Good Morning
My Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors,
Well after all those weeks of rushing around, making cards
wrapping presents, its over.
May I take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of you
a Very Happy New Year.
Don't know what has happened with blogger but of some
reason, I do not know what, some of my followers have
disappeared. Welcome to Brawny x
How was your Christmas? I hope Santa brought you something
nice, but most of all I hope you managed to enjoy the holiday.
We as usual had a very quite Christmas, had mum over from
Christmas Eve until the day after boxing day and on the whole
I think she had a nice time, she certainly had a bit of excitement
as on Boxing Day the small river that runs along my house
decided to overflow and from early afternoon we watched
the water rising in the garden until we had it flowing all over
the back, side and front gardens.
Sandbags were delivered in the evening and my husband
and other male residents were out in wellies barricading
us all up. We were fortunate enough that the water
did not come in but its still scary watching water
rising and knowing there is nothing you can do to
stop it only hope and pray. Anyway as I said
mum enjoyed looking through the window giving me
a running commentary on what was going on.
Luckily by the time I got up at 5am next day water
has subsided only leaving a small lake at the front
of the houses in what was the road. We are the
lucky ones, my heart goes out to all the other
people who were not so lucky and have been
devastated by all this rainfall.

DETAILS
1. Card blank is 8 x8 and I have matted with navy blue card
and then backing paper from the Cute Daisy May cd.
I have then rounded the edges.
2. I then took another piece of navy card and a piece of
pale blue satin paper, rounded the edges added a navy
ribbon across the centre before mounting onto the card.
3. Here is where my Sparkly and New To Me comes in,
using one of my new dies X Cut Naive Floral Borders
I created the frame and added silver glitter to each
flower centre.

Lovely card. I am glad you didn't get flooded in the house. We live on a hill so don't get flooded but we have some leaks in the kitchen roof today with the heavy rain.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.
Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the water subsided

ReplyDeleteMorning Jennifer and Happy New Year to you. We had a fabulous Christmas and a quiet New Year. Brian is back at work today, so the holidays are over....I love this card my friend, and want to thank you again, for your input and creations for Whoopsi Daisy Digi and CD challenge...love and hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteGosh, sounds like you had a narrow escape but I'm glad you haven't been washed away. I do hope this rain stops soon so those affected can start to sort everything out; it must be so upsetting.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so pretty; the Daisy May papers and image are lovely and the blue/white colour combo reminds me of delicate china. I love the floral border; it's a lovely die and the way you created a frame with it is gorgeous.
Big hugs, Kat xx
